To All the Friars of the Order
At the conclusion of the 199th Ordinary General Chapter

Assisi, Sacred Convent,  May 14- June 18, 2007

Dear Brothers,

At the conclusion of the 199th General Chapter, which we have just celebrated at the Sacred Convent in Assisi, near the tomb of our Seraphic Father, may the greeting which was revealed and given to Saint Francis reach each one of you: “May the Lord grant you His peace.”

We, ministers and delegates of all the fraternities of the Order found on every continent, have spent nearly forty days around the feast of Pentecost, as is prescribed in the Rule (RB, 8), especially to “treat of the things regarding God” (RNB, 18). Before returning to our various fraternities we want to share with you what we have experienced.
