During this morning’s session the Capitular friars assembled for the last time to conclude the 5th Session with the global vote of all the previously approved motions (the complete list of the approved motions is available in the Documents section).  Then, after being invited to do so by the Praeses, the Recording Secretary, Fr. Luigi Constantini, opened the last session, dedicated to the suffrages for the deceased friars who have preceded us to the Father in this last sexennium and to thank God for all the wonders He has done.

Following the conclusion of the Chapter activities, the concluding liturgy of the Chapter was held in the late afternoon, with Holy Mass presided by the Minister General in the Lower Basilica of St. Francis.  At the end all the friars processed to the Tomb, where the Minister General gave them their “mandate” of preaching the Gospel throughout the world where they minister.  This moment was accompanied by a significant gesture being the presentation of the Gospel in Greek and Latin to each friar to remember this event.
