After a free morning, which was needed after the adventurous pilgrimage to Padua for the Feast of St. Anthony, the Capitulars went back to the Assembly to vote on the General Econom. After the Minister General’s proposal, Fr. Giorgio Silvestri, of the Paduan Province, was reconfirmed for the six-year term. The attention was then turned to the motions regarding the restructuring of the Italian provinces. After much debate, which concluded the analysis of the topic already carried out the last few days, the motions were then voted on.
These motions, as all the other ones as well, will be published in full in the area reserved for friars (Documents): the tradition for Chapters is that before the official end of the Chapter there is a comprehensive vote on all the previous motions, approved or otherwise. That is why it is premature to publish any motions before this conclusive vote is carried out.
In closing the afternoon’s session, after being invited by the Minister General, the FALC Assistant General, Fr. João Benedito Ferreira de Araújo, presenting the topic regarding “Formation for Mission: Elements for a Sexennial Project of the Order” which will be studied in the regional Coetuses.
